Weaker section funds being misused for luxuries, foreign travel by TDP Govt

Former Minister Sailajanath, who was among the saner voices during the Congress regime, on Thursday alleged the misuse of the funds under the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes sub-plan in Andhra Pradesh for luxuries, foreign travel and so on. Talking to newsmen in Anantpur, Sailajanath charged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with misusing the weaker sections funds for luxuries to the denial of the monies for the benefit of the Scheduled Castes. How could you take funds from the SC, ST subplan and utilize them for foreign travel, he wondered. He further charged that the government was seriously undermining the case of the weaker sections. He said the government was deliberately denying electricity to the weaker sections housing colonies. Sailajanath wanted the government to give details of the expenditure incurred under the weaker sections subplan.
