Mohali, March 27: West Indies edged out India by three runs in a closely fought women's World Twenty20 encounter at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here on Sunday.

Harmanpreet returned figures of 4/23 in three overs while Anuja registered 3/16 in four overs.

Opener Stafanie Taylor was the top scorer for the West Indies with 47 runs off 45 balls. Deandra Dottin also produced a brisk 45 off 40 balls, but the rest of the West Indies batsmen were unable to reach double figures.
