Two Jet staffers injured: Suicide bombers claimed 35 lives

Wed, Mar 23, 2016, 10:46 AM
Two Jet Air staffers, Nidhi Cahpekar, of Andheri, and Amit Motwani, of Bandra, were stated to have been injured in the Brussels airport explosions in Belgium on Tuesday. Both are said to be getting medical aid. The severity of their injuries had not been revealed. The Brussels airport authorities have, however, said no foreigners were killed in the twin explosions that rocked the airport and the metro station nearby and that the blasts claimed at least 35 lives.

While the ISIS claimed responsibility for the twin explosions, TV footage shows that two men in black pushing luggage trollies were the two suicide bombers. A third who was in light-colured clothes and a hat was the one who planted a bomb at the airport and then got away. The bomb placed by him did not explode.

The police are looking for the man in the hat. All the three had pushed the trollies, side by side. It was a planned operation, the police added.

Jet Airways said the staff and the guests were shifted far away from the terminal. Transit guests have been taken to safety in coaches.

Jet Airways operates a daily non-stop flight to Brussels from Mumbai and New Delhi.
