Jagan leads YCP MLAs to Ambedkar statue, protests Speaker decisions

While the Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned on Saturday till Monday by Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao following YCP MLAs surrounding the podium in black shirts and raising slogans, the opposition party led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy commiserated with protesting RK Roja at the main gate of the Assembly because she was barred from entering the House. Jagan noticed the weak condition of Roja, who was staging a sit-in at the main gate, and ensured she was sent to NIMS Hospital for urgent treatment. Then he led a protest rally to Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. On the way, the YCP leaders raised slogans, castigating the Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh as a `looting government, stealing government.' Earlier, Jagan regretted that the Babu government did not care for the High Court bench order setting aside the suspension of Roja from the House for 1 year. He lashed out at both the Chief Minister and the Speaker for disregarding the High Court Interim order and barring the entry of Roja into the House. That was why they were seeking the blessings of the founder of the Indian Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar. On reaching the statue, Jagan washed the statue with milk. The rally was despite the hot Sun in the afternoon. Speaking to newsmen at the Ambedkar statue, the YCP leader stated that while in the House he had sought the mike to protest against barring Roja's entry. The Speaker did not oblige him. He had told the Speaker that he simply wanted to convey to the House that despite the setting aside of Roja's suspension, the House had barred her entry. He said to protest against the Speaker's denial, his party would not be attending the House till Monday.
