Speakeasy on illicit liquor sale in Gujarat, gangster's son tells SRK

Wed, Mar 02, 2016, 04:19 PM
Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan has been given a notice not to show the character he plays in poor light in the film `Rayees' because it is based on a real life character.

`Rayees' is about illicit liquor trade during the prohibition in Gujarat by one gangster Abdul Lateef. Ban on liquor sale continues in Gujarat.

Lateef's son, Mustaq Ahmed Abdul Lateef, now says his father is a respectable person in society, so his name should not be tarnished. His father is today a respectable businessman.

However, Mustaq says the film-makers were making the film in such a way as to tarnish the image of his father. The `Rayees' (rich) film-making should be stopped forthwith.

Mustaq has sent notices to `Rayees' Star Shah Rukh Khan, Producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Director Rahul Dholakia.

The notice seeks a ban on `Rayees' publicity and distribution.
