Wall posters come up to advertise divorce

A filmy episode has become the guiding principle for a divorce in Warangal district. A young husband who is seeking divorce from his wife has brought out wall posters, much like in the film`Ahwanam' and is distributing those among the people of Dharmasagar mandal in Narayanagiri. The invitation (ahwanam) is to the people to witness the divorce proceedings at the Narayangiri panchayat on February 14. The facts of the case are the couple Kalakonda Suresh and Uma were married 4 years ago. They have a baby daughter. The couple used to frequently quarrel over additional dowry that the girl was supposed to get from her parents. They quarreled 3 days ago also. Suresh got angry and sent his wife to her parents at Narayanagiri. Then he decided to go for a divorce. He got the wall posters done and started distributing those visiting each house in the panchayat. The divorce wall posters and their distribution, as in the elections, have raised curiosity of the people. Uma protested over the wall posters. The police moved in, but Suresh disappeared from the scene. February 14 happens to be Valentine's Day, when the divorce panchayat is expected to decide the matter. It is, therefore, raising further interest in the area as to what would happen on that day between Suresh and his harassed wife.
