David Headley says LeT made 2 raids before 26/11

Mon, Feb 08, 2016, 12:57 PM
David Coleman Headley, a spy and terrorist of Pakistani origin living in the United States, on Monday admitted to the Terrorist and Disruptive Activites Act (TADA) court in Mumbai about his consiratorial role in in plotting the 2008 Pakistani attack on the metropolis through video conference.

Headley, an American citizen who is serving a 35-year sentence in a US prison, told the TADA court in the morning that two earlier attempts by Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, to which he belonged, had earlier failed. Both the raids by terrorists landing in boats in Mubai and planned by Lashkar had failed.

The first raid was made in September 2008, when the boat hit the rocks on the seashore and broke, sinking the guns and ammunition.

The second raid was attempted in October 2008, which also failed. But he did not say why it had failed.

"I am a true follower of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba. Even before i visited India for the first time, i had an idea of LeT's machinations on Mumbai," he told the court via video-conferencing, which is being done for the first time in India as regards foreigners.

LeT's Sajid Mir had asked him to start a business in India. At the time he made videos on Mumbai. He made videos on Mumbai and sent them to LeT so it could map the assault on Mumbai. The terrorists had used the videos for the 26/11 attacks.

Headley is a double agent between Pakistan and USA, and is wanted in Denmark also for terrorism.
