Three WIPRO staff held for hacking TalkTalk

Fri, Jan 29, 2016, 02:41 PM
Three employees of the WIPRO centre in Kolkata have been arrested for hacking their British partner TalkTalk customer accounts and compromising info related to their bank details.

The three employees were arrested in terms of the WIPRO-TalkTalk agreement on the outsourcing operations.

TalkTalk is a major fixed line broadband and voice telephony services company, with revenue of 1.7 billion pounds, competing with British Telecom and Virgin.

TalkTalk had suffered a major cyber attack in October last that had compromised the personal and financial details, including bank account information, of some 157,000 of its customers.

A security review by TalkTalk pinpointed the hacking by the three WIPRO employees.

Following the cyber attack, TalkTalk has decided to review its outsourcing plans with WIPRO.
