Flipkart puts winning horse before the cart

Fri, Jan 29, 2016, 12:11 PM
Online commerce giant Flipkart is putting the winning horse before the cart, reducing the time needed to make fresh recruitment.

Normally technology companies believe in rounds of interviews. Telephone interview starts the process, followed by personal interview, group discussion and final interview, and the rigmarole goes on. Some more hire recruitment agencies and depend on them for selecting candidates.

Flipkart saw the flip side of the existing recruitment procedures and has arranged with an online learning agency Udacity to do away with the rigmarole. The stress is on project reports and class work by a candidate for selection.

For its mobile development team, Flipkart hired three graduates of Udacity's Android Developer Nanodegree. The graduates have already moved to Bangalore from New Delhi and started working.

The company says its going to recruit more graduates from various other learning institutions also.
