American pilot caught smuggling gold, $s from India

Tue, Jan 12, 2016, 04:29 PM
An American pilot, Antonty Warner, has been caught smuggling gold and cash of $200,000 from India.

The pilot, working for a private airline, flew in from Mumbai as a passenger and he was taken into custody at Liberty International Airport at Newark.

The details of his India visit are not known. The value of gold has also not been revealed.

The Customs questioned him about the gold and cash, but he gave no satisfactory answers. Warner was then charged with smuggling and taken into custody.

American pilots are known to smuggle cocaine from South American countries. In a smuggling case last month, pilot Kenneth Parrock was detained at Jorge Chavez airport in Peru. The pilot denied the contraband belonged to him.

India witnesses gold being smuggled into the country. This is the first time an American pilot got interested in smuggling gold out of India.
