Stock markets round the world tumbling down

Mon, Jan 04, 2016, 02:10 PM
Stock markets round the world are tumbling down over various factors. The chief factors appear to be West Asian crisis, recession in China and the last quarter of 2015 resgistering less profits. Plus Japanese Purchase Managing Indiex (PMI) has gone down considerably.

So far as India is concerned, added to the world markets tumble down, the Pathankot terror attack has fuelled further fears in the Dalal Street and other markets. At 11.45 a.m., Sensex dropped by 406 points to reach 25,753 points. This works out to 1.56% loss.

Recently, the Chinese Shanghai Composite Index fell by over 7%, when the government there had to intervene and suspend the market operations.

Currently, Japanese Index Nikkie dropped by 3.16%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng 2.86%, and South Korean Kospi by 2.22%.

Nifti Index fell by 127 points and was trading at 7,835 points.

The US main index Nasdaq Futures declined by 1.17%.

While Asian markets have slid on fears over stalling Chinese economy, oil futures have risen over Saudi-Iran rift.
