Lok Sabha Speaker says sorry, removes her own remarks from records

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has shown her big heartedness in the Chair. As usual now, Congress members came into the well of the House in pursuit of their demands on Tuesday. In order to set the House in order, Sumitra made remarks such as `You people do not care for the country's needs' and `Selfish ends are your needs.' When the House met on Wednesday, the Congress members raised a din against the Speaker's remarks. Congress leader in the House Mallikharjun Kharge said the unusual remarks of the Speaker had hurt him and his party members deeply. Responding to the demand, the Speaker pointed out that she did not have any particular party in mind. The Speaker then withdrew the remarks. She also begged pardon for her remarks. The Speaker got her own remarks removed from the records.
