After San Bernardino, US Visa regime made stricter for spouses

Mon, Dec 14, 2015, 01:47 PM
After the San Bernardino terrorist attack on innocents in California, the US has made its regime all the more stricter, particularly relating to K1 visas for the spouses. Henceforth the US authorities will keep an eye on social networks for any anti-American sentiments and bar the entry for those making such posts in websites. Entry is going to be blocked to those making anti-American sentiments even in a casual manner, any reference made to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack, and even `like' for anti-US references and pictures of burning Stars and Stripes. In regard to the K1 visas (fiancee), the US is going to make minute checks. The US authorities have made the decision owing to the view that San Bernardino could have been prevented had a check been kept on social network websites through which IS elements chattered. Hitherto the authorities took no cognizance of such posts. White House spokesman Josh Earnest has announced that the decision followed some fiancee Visa applicants as indulging in terrorist activities on the American soil. Tafsin Malik, woman terrorist at San Bernardino, was one such entry.
