EC issues notification for MLC elections in TS

Hyderabad, Dec 2: The Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal has today issued the notification for the biennial elections to the legislative council of Telangana local authorities' counstituencies. Twelve members are to be elected to the legislative council under the local authorities' counstituencies and the polling for the positions will be held on December 27. EC is scheduled to receive nominations till December 9 and the nomination papers will be scrutinised on December 10. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers on or before December 12. The counting of votes will be held on December 30. The break up of the seats and constituencies is as follows: * Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar - 2 seats each * Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam district - 1 seat each
