2 Hyderabadi NRIs who gave money to Qaeda did not visit city: Hyd police

Hyderabad, Nov 10: Telangana intelligence officials today revealed that the two Hyderabadi NRI brothers Yahya Farooq Mohammad and Ibrahim Zubair, who provided financial support to Al Qaeda, did not visit India or the city in the recent years. The two were booked by a United States district court for extending help to Al Qaeda. Intelligence officials revealed that the two were born and received primary education in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The two studied in Hyderabad for a few years. However, they did not visit Hyderabad in the last 10 years, the officers said. The intelligence officials said, “The two are from Hyderabad. Their family is well-educated and settled in Sharjah. For education, they did come to Hyderabad. Later, they left for the United States to pursue their higher education there. Farooq then moved to Dubai and started working with an MNC.” The officials also said the father of the Qaeda supports had passed away a few years ago. Their mother is seriously ill and is being taken care by her brother in Hyderabad.
