TS alters rules to give priority to locals in jobs

Hyderabad, Sep 28: The Telangana State government is following a different set of rules to determine the local status of students and job aspirants to give priority to locals. Students who have studied four years in Telangana out of seven years prior to admission in PG and degree courses are eligible for fee reimbursement scheme. Similarly, the candidates who studied class IV to class X in Telangana alone are eligible for jobs. The recruitment process to fill engineer posts in Telangana power utilities will be held in the new pattern and the candidates must obtain a fresh nativity certificate issued by TS government. According to sources, the new norms are meant to check AP students from securing jobs in Telangana, particularly those who migrated to Telangana for higher education after completing their school education at their native places. The government believes that new rules will help Telangana native candidates to secure 90 per cent of jobs to be filled through various job notifications. The recruitment agencies are seeking date of birth certificate, SSC memo and nativity/residence certificate and this added credence to the allegations. Officials are not willing to comment on the issue.
