Rs 125 denomination coins are coming
New Delhi, Aug 29: That is true. Very soon the government of India is going to issue coins of Rs 125 denomination. This is to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar, as a mark of tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution. Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891. The finance ministry is said to be in discussions with the social justice ministry on the shape of the coin. The commemorative coin is expected to carry a picture of Ambedkar with an indication of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations etched on it along with Rs 125 embossed on it prominently.
