RSS to induct more women

Nagpur, Aug 17: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is planning to induct more women into its ranks to strike gender balance. According to reports, the representation of women in RSS and its affiliates ABVP and VHP is much lower when compared to men. The national team of VHP has 30 members and only three are women. Similarly, only three out of the 22 national executive committee members of ABVP are women. RSS shakas (branches) will not allow women to join them. A separate organisation called Rashtra Sevika Samithi holds women's shakas on the lines of RSS. The RSS has called for a meeting of its affiliates on September 5 and 6 in Delhi. Each affiliate has been asked to send at least two women representatives to the meet.
