Ex-MP Harsha Kumar gets six-month jail term

Rajahmundry, June 19: Amalapuram Ex-MP GV Harsha Kumar was sentenced to a six-month jail term and fined Rs 1,000 fine after he was convicted by the Rajahmundry Third Additional Magistrate court for preventing the police from discharging duties. However, police formally arrested the Ex-MP and released him on bail on the same day. Harsha Kumar reportedly entered Rajahmundry Three Town Police Station on February 27, 2007, manhandled ASI Satyanarayana and forcibly took away his followers who were detained for violating section 144. The police imposed Section 144 as Mala Mahanadu president Karem Shivaji launched a fast unto death hunger strike.
