Chennai police arrest Warangal techie for holding wife, daughter hostage for three years
Chennai, May 27, 2015: Chennai police have arrested a techie from Warangal district for holding hostage his wife and nine year old daughter for the last three years in an apartment at Perangulattur here. The techie, Rameshwar kept her daughter naked in a toilet feeding her with a plate of idly daily and his wife Priynaka, 32, in the apartment. To cut off relations for them with the outside world, the sadist techie kept his apartment locked. He was however sending his son to school regularly while keeping his wife and daughter hostage just for the reason that his wife gave birth to a girl. Chennai police were shocked at the distress conditions in which Priyanka and her daughter were found in the apartment when they broke open the doors on complaint from the neighbours. Police said that Priyanka,also from Warangal town, married Rameswar in 2004 but when she was pregnant, he found out through scanning that she had conceived a girl. He then put pressure on her to abort the pregnancy but she bluntly refused. Police said he then tried to divorce her but he restrained himself after family elders counselled him. After taking his wife and daughter to Chennai, he started harassing them at the behest of his mother and brother. Meanwhile, Priyanka gave birth to second child , this time a boy. However, for the last three years, Rameswar indicted more harassment to his wife and daughter by holding them hostage and beating the girl. Chennai women police came to the rescue of Priyanka and the innocent girl after they received information from neighbours. All said and done, Priyanka , instead of lodging a compliant personally against her sadistic husband, has reportedly decided to abandon him and stay with her parents in Warangal district. Rameswar was, however, put behind bars based on the complaint given by the neighbors.
