Kabuli Rice


1.Basmati rice 1 cup
2.Chana dal 1/2 cup
3.Fried Onions 1/2 cup
4.Curd 1/2 cup
5.Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tbsp
6.Green chillies 3
7.Salt to taste
8.Red chilli powder
9.Turmeric powder a pinch
10.Lemon juice 1 tbsp
11.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
12.Whole garam masala
14.Oil 3 tbsp
15.Bay leaf 1


1.Take a pan pour some water,add bay leaf,whole garam masala,pudina,salt and bring it to boil.
2.Add soaked rice,cover and cook till done.
3.Meanwhile take a bowl combine curd,ginger garlic paste,green chilli paste,fried onions,salt,red chilli powder,oil,turmeric,lemon juice,garam masala powder,pudina,chana dal and mix well.
4.Now transfer chana dal mixture into a separate bowl,now add parboiled rice on top of chana dal mixture and spread evenly.
5.Sprinkle some fried onions,pudina.Cover and cook till done.Give it a gentle mix and transfer into a plate,garnish with fried onions,pudina.Serve hot
