2.Moong dal
4.Cumin seeds
5.Salt to taste
6.Green chillies
7.Cashew nuts
8.Ginger chopped
9.Hing a pinch
10.Curry leaves
11.Pepper corns roughly crushed


1.Dry roast rice,moong dal on slow flame for few minutes,add some ghee and saute for another couple of minutes.
2.Pressure cook dry roasted rice,moong dal mixture by adding 1:6 ratio (for 1 cup of rice mixture add 6 cups of water).
3.Add cumin seeds,salt,green chillies and cook for 4-5 whistles.
4.For tempering heat some ghee in a pan,add cumin,mustard,hing,ginger,curry leaves,pepper corns,cashew nuts and saute for few seconds.
5.Finally add rice to the frying pan and mix well,cook for few minutes.Serve hot.
