Pulla Garelu


1.Rice flour
3.Green chillies
4.Ginger chopped
5.Urad dal batter soak for about 4-5 hrs
6.Sounf (Fennel seeds)
7.Salt to taste
8.Oil for deep frying
9.Baking soda


1.Take a bowl add urad dal batter 1 bowl,add green chillies,ginger chopped,sounf,rice flour 2 tbsp,salt to taste mix well all the ingredients.
2.Meanwhile heat sufficient oil for deep frying.
3.Take small amount of mixture in your palms and prepare round dumpling.
4.Grease your palms with some water and press the dumpling into a small vada (garelu).Repeat the same process for others.
5.Slowly drop the garelu in hot oil and deep fry,gently turn them and fry evenly on both the sides.
6.Fry till golden brown colour,transfer onto a paper napkin,drain excess oil and serve hot.
