Black Eyed Peas Curry

Ingredients:

1.Dried Black Eyed Peas 1 cup soaked overnight
2.Onion 1/2 medium chopped
3.Tomatoes chopped 2 medium
4.Garlic cloves 2
5.Ginger 2 pieces
6.Oil 1 tbsp
7.Green chillies to taste
8.Salt to taste
9.Red chilli powder to taste
10.Turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp
11.Chat masala powder 1/2 tbsp
12.Garam masala powder 1 tbsp
13.Cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
14.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
15.Lemon juice to taste
16.Coriander leaves for garnishing

Preparation:

1.Drain the water from the Black Eyed Peas and transfer to a cooker.
2. In a blender, grind the following: Onions, Tomatoes, Ginger, Garlic, Green Chili and Oil.
3.Grind to a smooth paste and add to the green peas mixture.
4.Add in the water and the dry spices: Salt, Turmeric Powder, Cumin
Powder, Coriander Powder, Garam Masala, Chaat Masala and Red Chili
Powder.
5.Cook on high for 5 hours, covered and then for 1 hour uncovered.
6.Add a squeeze of Lemon Juice and garnish with coriander leaves.Serve hot with Rice or Chapatis.
