Mango Kadhi


1.Mango ripened 1
2.Butter milk 3 cups
3.Salt to taste
4.Fenugreek seeds 1 1/2 tbsp
5.Cumin seeds 2 tbsp
6.Dried red chillies 2-3
7.Roasted chana dal 3 tbsp
8.Coconut grated 3 tbsp
9.Green chillies to taste
10.Mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp
11.Asafoetida 1/8 tbsp
12.Curry leaves


1.Take a pan add mango pieces,some water and bring it to boil.
2.Cook till mangoes are tender.
3.Meanwhile dry roast cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds,dried red chillies,chana dal till light golden brown.
4.Transfer into a plate and rest the mixture to cool.
5.Grind the spices into a coarse powder.
6.Add Buttermilk and salt and mix well.
7.Place the pan on stove and heat mixture through medium flame.
8. Meanwhile, heat Oil in a small pan,Add Mustard Seeds and allow them to pop.
9.Add Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida, Dry Red Chilies and Curry Leaves.
10.Pour seasoning over the kadhi and mix.Serve with rice.
