Chicken Biryani

Chicken Biryani


1.Basmati rice 2 cups
2.Chicken 1.5 lb
3.Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
4.Red chilli powder 4 tbsp
5.Lemon juice 1 tbsp
6.Salt to taste
7.Curd 2 tbsp
8.Whole garam masala
9.Oil 6 tbsp
10.Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
11.Onion 1 big sliced
12.Tomato 1 no. pureed
13.Coriander powder 2 tbsp
14.Biryani masala powde 2 tbsp


1.Marination process: Take a bowl add in ginger garlic paste,red chilli powder,salt,lemon juice,food color and mix well.Add in chicken and mix.Cover and marinate for 1 hour.
2.Bake the chicken in oven for 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
3.To boil rice-wash and soak basmati rice for 45 minutes.Boil 8 cups of water,add salt,whole garam masala,ghee 3 tbsp,cook till 80 % done.
4.Drain the water and keep it aside.
5.Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan,add cumin seeds,onion sliced and cook till light brown color.
6.Add in ginger garlic paste,coriander powder,red chilli powder and cook for 3-4 minutes.
7.Add tomato puree,mint leaves and cook till oil separates from the mixture.
8.Add biryani masala and cook for a minute.
9.Add marinated chicken,salt and mix well.Cover and coook for 10 minutes.
10.Now arrange layers,add in some water in chicken and give it a mix.
11.Spread boiled rice over chicken,sprinkle some biryani masala,fried onion,add saffron,cover and cook for another 10 minutes on medium flame.
12.After 10 minutes simmer the flame and cook for 20 minutes.Turn off the flame and rest for 10 minutes .Serve hot.
