Bhindi Masala


1.Lady finger 1/2 lb
2.Oil 1 1/2 tbsp
3.Pinch of asafoetida
4.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
5.Coriander powder 1 tbsp
6.Cayenne 1/2 tbsp
7.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
8.Salt to taste
9.Mango powder 1/2 tbsp
10.Besan flour 1 tbsp
11.Yellow capsicum 2 tbsp chopped
12.Red capsicum 2 tbsp chopped


1.Wash the okra and pat dry.Cut off the both ends of the okra, and slice lengthwise in halves. Set aside.
2.Heat the oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat.
3.Add the cumin seeds and asafetida,When the cumin seeds crack, add the lady finger.Stir for a minute and reduce the heat to medium.
4.Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
5.Remove the cover and add in coriander powder red cayenne pepper and turmeric.
6.Next add gram flour (besan) and continue to stir-fry until the lady fingers are tender.
7.Add the salt, mango powder and bell peppers, cook for another minute.Serve hot.
