Methi Thepla - Fenugreek Parata


1.Wheat flour 1 cup
2.Besan flour 1/4 cup
3.Asafoetida 1/8 tbsp
4.Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
5.Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
6.Red chilli flakes 1 tbsp
7.Salt to taste
8.Dry fenugreek leaves 1/4 cup
9.Oil 2 tbsp
10.Curd 1/4 cup


1.Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl: flour, gram flour,
asafetida, cumin seeds, turmeric, chili flakes, salt, and fenugreek
2.Add oil and yogurt to the bowl and mix well. Add water as needed to make firm dough.
3.Set the dough aside and cover it with a damp cloth. Let the dough rest for at least ten minutes.Divide the dough into 6 to 8 equal parts.
4.Roll the dough balls into parathas and meanwhile heat a skillet.
5.Place the paratha on skillet and cook evenly on both sides till golden spots appear.Cook evenly by drizzling some oil and spreading all over thepla.Serve hot.
