Senaga Pappu Rice Pongali


1.Chana dal 1/2 cup
2.Rice 1 cup
4.Coconut pieces chopped
5.Cashew nuts
7.Cardamom powder
8.Cow ghee


1.Firstly cook rice and chana dal together in pressure pan for 3 whistles and keep aside.
2.Take another pan pour 1/2 glass water and 2 cups jaggery,mix well.
3.Prepare a thick consistency syrup on medium heat till it attains thread consistency.
4.Now add cooked chana dal and rice mixture and mix it well.
5.Cook until it attains thick consistency,meanwhile fry the dry fruits and coconut pieces till golden color.
6.Finally add fried dry fruits,coconut pieces and mix it well.Add 1 tbsp cow ghee and mix it well.Sprinkle 2 tbsp cardamom powder and serve hot.
