Vulava Kattu


1.Ulavalu 1 cup
2.Oil 4 tbsp
3.Tempering seeds 1 tbsp
4.Garlic cloves 10
5.Dried red chillies 2
6.Green chillies 2
7.Curry leaves
8.Onion slilced 1
9.Tamarind juice
10.Turmeric powder
11.Salt to taste
12.Red chilli powder
13.Turmeric powder


1.Take a pan pour some oil and heat it,add in dried red chillies,tempering seeds,curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
2.Add garlic cloves,pinch of turmeric powder ,onion sliced,saute for few minutes.
3.Add salt to taste,tamarind juice,4 cups water and bring it to boil.
4.Meanwhile dissolve ulavalu pindi in water without any lumps.Slowly add this mixture to the boiling water and mix well.
5.Add red chilli powder and mix well,finally add coriander leaves and serve hot.
