Beetroot Payasam


1.Beetroot grated 1 cup
2.Kova 1 tbsp
3.Semiya 1 cup
4.Carrot 1/2 cup
5.Coconut grated 1 tbsp
6.Sugar 1 cup
7.Milk 1/2 ltr
8.Cardamom powder
9.Dry fruits 10 grams
10.Ghee 1/4 cup


1.Take a pan pour some ghee and melt it,fry cashew nuts,kismis and saute for few minutes.Transfer into a plate/
2.Fry semiya on other pan till light brown colour and cook on medium flame.
3.In the same pan add beetroot grated and saute till raw smell goes off.
4.Fry carrot grated and keep aside.
5.Meanwhile heat some milk in a pan,add cardamom powder and bring it to boil.
6.Add fried beetroot,carrot,coconut,sugar,semiya,kova to the boiling milk and give it a mix.
7.Add fried dry fruits and bring it to boil,transfer into a bowl and garnish with dry fruits,serve hot.
