Sweet Pongali


1.Moong dal 1 cup
2.Rice 2 cups
3.Sugar 2 cups
5.Fresh Coconut slices
6.Cashew nuts 10 grams
7.Badam 10 grams
10.Condensed milk 2 tbsp
11.Ghee 2 tbsp


1.Take a pan pour some ghee and heat it.Fry cashews,kismis,fresh coconut pieces till nice golden colour.
2.In the same pan add moong dal and saute for few minutes.Add rice and mix it well.
3.Add some water as required,cover and cook for few minutes.
4.Add sugar,jaggery and mix well till both the ingredients melt evenly.
condensed milk and give it a good mix.Sprinkle some cardamoms and cook
on medium flame for 5 minutes by covering a lid.Cook till done and
transfer into a bowl,garnish with cherries and cashews,badam.
