The State Government of Telangana has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate Swatantra Bharat Vajrotsavalu for two weeks ie from Aug 8 th to 22 nd Aug 2022 in a befitting manner. It is a fortnight of cultural programs highlighting the spirit of freedom movement. There are several unique activities like freedom walk, screening of Gandhi movie, conducting Book fair and Photo exhibition were organised across the state .
As part of 75th Independence day celebrations, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed the officials to show the biopic of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi to motivate the children of present generation on freedom struggle. The Government of Telangana has begun the free of cost screening of Gandhi movie. The State Government has made arrangements to screen Gandhi movie to 2.50 lakh students per day.
With this decision taken by the government nearly 2 million school going children are watching the film.The Government has decided to screen Gandhi movie based on the life of Father of nation to inculcate patriotism among school going children.
The movie shows are organised from August 09 to 11 and August 16 to 21 st in 552 theaters across the state between 10am to 1.15pm.This film is screened in Hindi and English versions.
Spl.Chief Secretary , MAUD and Commissioner ,Information and Public Relations department Mr Arvind Kumar informed that seeing the stupendous response of screening of Gandhi movie, by the state of Telangana, the state governments of Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh have made formal enquiries regarding the procedure to screen the Gandhi movie across all the screens in the states.
