Hundreds of culprits, who had resorted to thefts during Krishna Pushkarams in Andhra Pradesh (AP), were held by police. They all belong to interstate gangs from all over India, including Odisha, AP and Telangana. They snatched chains from women and bags. Several of them had been taken into preventive custody, while others were held later, the police said. The police were able to detect the thefts and take immediate action because of advanced technology and vigil by police.
