The government has been urged to announce a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers so that they can overcome losses. Whenever there is a glut in the market of onion and tomatoes, the farmers are losing. They are paid 0.60 p for a kilo of tomatoes and Rs. 2 per kg of onions. The farmers are now refusing to sell their products and throwing it away because of the lowest price. Concerned authorities urged that the farmers should be given a support price.
