Ghee improves immunity. Medicine is mixed with ghee before administering. Ghee can be given to patients who are recovering from an illness in kichidi or to children. But the use of ghee should be limited to just one or two spoons, along with dal, spicy curry etc., and not for deep frying. As it is a saturated oil, ghee is not recommended for heart patients. But if they reduce other forms of fat, they can consume a drop of ghee with their meals.
