The issue of Special status to Andhra Pradesh has turned a hot political topic. The private member's bill introduced by Andhra Pradesh Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao , which had come up for discussion in the Rajya Sabha on May 4, could not continue for want of quorum . The Congress member, in the bill, asked the Centre to fulfil its promises including bridging the revenue deficit, liberal financial assistance for the construction of the new capital.
