Subramanya Swamy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP), questioned his own party government in Rajya Sabha (RS) today, on the dams and hydroelectric projects that have come up on Ganga river. The projects were sanctioned during Congress government. They have diverted the river waters, he added. Replying to this, Union minister Uma Bharati said that the present government is not allowing illegal dams or projects to come up on the river.
