Sanjeevini plants, mentioned as life-giving medicine in Ramayana, are found in abundance atop Tirumalayagiri, in Wanaparthy mandal of Mahbubnagar district. They had been discovered by a botany teacher Sadasivaiah, who has conducted vast research and realised the medicinal potential of this plant. It is used by Chenchus in Nallamala forests for all ailments. The properties in Sanjeevini leaves develop anti-bodies to a virus that is born in dying or dead bodies.
