The AP government decided to develop an airport at Tadepalligudem after bifurcation. A 2-km runway was laid during British rule. But, it was abandoned after India gained independence. About 2,000 families have occupied airport lands and constructed houses over the years. The State government announced to allocate 100 square yards land for displaced. But, they are demanding the government to allocate 150 square yards of land.
