Medical Council of India (MCI) has rejected permission for 11 medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana State (TS). The colleges were rejected because of lack of qualified faculty or quality equipment. This issue has brought to light the state of medical education, in the Telugu states. Prof. Ramesh Reddy, member of MCI said that the aim of the council was to weed out fake colleges and encourage quality medical education.
