Look at the rate of onions when it comes to farmers who have struggled for three months to grow them, at Ratlam in MP – 0.20 paise per kilo. While the dejected farmers are leaving their products in the yard and going away, the same is sold for Rs. 20 in the market. Not that there is no demand. The least price of onion is Rs. 9 per kilo in Jaipur. The farmers, who have harvested a bumper crop this year, questioned the authorities as to how they would run their families at such a less price. They should get at least Rs. 7 per kg, they urged. Governments, are you listening?.
