The Minstry of External Affairs Ministry (MEA) has suspended the validity of liquor baron Vijay Mallya's diplomatic passport. It has been reported that following a letter written by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) addressed to External Affairs Ministry, the said steps have been taken. The passport has been suspended with immediate effect for a period of four weeks, under Section 10 A of the Passports Act. Vijay Mallya is facing legal proceedings for alleged default of loans worth over Rs 9,000 crore from various banks.
