Both India and US have signed an agreement to share military logistics, which meant each can use the other's military bases for logistic support, services and supplies. Defence ministers of both countries, Carter and Parrikar agreed in principle to allow access to each other's military bases. US had been trying for this agreement with India since years. The agreement does not mean however, that US troops can be stationed on Indian soil.
