Kurnool onion farmers are demanding a remunerative price of at least Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 per quintal. Ever since the onion prices have come down, they are facing losses because at the end of the day, they get just Rs. 2.50 per kg, even though onions cost Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 per kg in open market. The farmers have urged the government to buy their produce for a good price, for them to make up for the losses they are facing due to price fall.
