Bhairavakona is a less known pilgrim centre in Prakasam district. Set against the backdrop of three high hills, the place is a sanctuary, with greenery and waterfalls. Legend has it that Lord Bhairava once ruled over this place and hence the name Bhairavakona. The unique feature of this place is that hillocks are caved in and ancient temples have been built inside. A number of temples, including one for Lord Siva, have come up.
