Maha Sivarathri Brahmotsavams are being celebrated on a grand scale, at Srisailam, in Kurnool district. The presiding deities, Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Brahmarambha, were taken out in a Hamsavahanam, decorated grandly with flowers and colourful lights. Folk artistes performed various arts, to the accompaniment of drum beats. Religious fervour, with music and dance, marked the celebrations. Sivarathi will be observed on Monday, March 7th.
