Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami, who killed 10 terrorists in 11 days before being martyred in Jammu and Kashmir in September 2015, was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra, the country's highest peacetime gallantry award, by President Pranab Mukherjee. He joined Indian Army in 2002 and opted for special forces. Mohan Nath hails from Uttarakhand state. He is survived by his wife and seven-year-old daughter.
