After eight years of legal battle, a family in Kerala was compensated by Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS). The hospital paid them Rs. 35 lakh for not attending to Deepak, a patient, who died of cardiac arrest, due to delayed treatment. Deepak was given anaesthesia just before undergoing surgery.
