About 8 lakh children are dying every year because of diarrhoea, respiratory infection and other diseases in India for a small mistake of not washing hands. Hands washing syndrome is the biggest challenge before the Indian health sector. The Central government had spent crores of rupees for eradication of polio but failed to motivate people about the need of washing hands. International organisations have succeeded in making children of 50 villages in Chittoor district to wash hands for six times in a day.
